Reading Comprehension

Reading Comprehension, the ability to read and understand what is read. Reading is taught in school and every student must know how to read in order to function in society. Without the skills to read, a person will wonder the world hoping people will not lie to them. That will lead someone down a road that was not intended or failure. Reading is very essential for survival. There are many skills one can learn if they know how to read. Now, a person needs to understand what they are reading to perform better in life and follow written directions better. Failure to understand what is written can lead to a failure to understand how something works. Humans need to read a lot to understand the world around them. Knowledge is written down into books so the new generation can read passed down knowledge of different concepts. Then make it better and pass it to the next generation.
Being able to understand the meaning behind a text will help a child professionally. A child or person will have to fill out job applications once in their life. They might have to attend a business meeting as well. Reading function is essential for the child to survive in the real world. Job applications ask a lot of questions and the person needs to understand what they mean. It is not enough to read the text. You must understand so you know how to respond to the text. This will allow you to do better on the job application and find a job faster.
Having good reading comprehension is good for school environments. A person who can understand what they read will be able to pass the tests. Passing the tests will allow the person to pass the class. This will allow the person to obtain a skill needed for a future job.
Understanding what you read is connected to the world around you. It will give you a sense of direction too. You will know if you are going the right way if you understand the message in the manual. The world has many manuals and many books that teach you things. But, if you are unable to look deeper into the text and understand what is being said, then you will not be able to understand the knowledge or see something you need. You need to read, but you also need to know what the words and phrases mean. You must connect the points in the text to understand the rules, point, procedure, skill, decision, or concept. These are things you will need to understand for the life ahead of you.

Identify Independent Clauses

Identify Independent Clauses, a sentence that stands on its own. The sentence has a subject, verb, and a complete thought. A complete thought is a sentence that does not leave you hanging when you read it. If you were to read one sentence and the sentence made sense, then it is a complete thought. If you were to read a sentence and the sentence was missing something, it is not a complete thought. A verb is a word that expresses action or a word that is used in sentences. Now is" is a verb so be careful about the words you call a verb. The word amis also a verb. Verbs generally mean action, but sometimes they are words that fill in the gaps and make the sentence make more sense. A subject is the person, group, or thing the sentence is about. The thing that is being talked about in the sentence. The person or thing that is connected to the main point of the sentence.
An example of an independent clause would beI was late to work.NowI" is the subject. The sentence talks about "I" who is the main person connected the main point of the sentence. The verb in the sentence iswas" because it fills in the gap. "Late" refers to a time period. That can not be the verb. "Work" refers to a place where I go to. That can not be the verb. The word "to" is a preposition. A word used to move things in the sentence. It is not a action word or fill in the gap word.
The complete thought of the sentence would be the entire sentence. Remember, the sentence is complete if it does not hang. If the sentence hangs or looks like it is missing something it is not a complete sentence or a complete thought. For example,Yesterday I was" is not a complete sentence. It is missing the complete thought. It has the subject and the verb but it is missing a complete thought.

Making Predictions

Predictions, something you assume because of something you know or think. You say something that you think will happen in the future. To predict is to guess what the future is (Kara, 2018). Predictions are made in the present moment or past. You can make basic predictions when reading a book (Kara, 2018). You do this by reading a few pages and then think of an outcome that might happen based on what you have read so far. Most predictions are made on what you know, but sometimes they are random guesses based on nothing (Kara, 2018).

How can one predict their own future? Well, most of us believe that we can not predict our future. Most of us, think the future will be negative (Aguirre, 2016). Thinking something bad will happen in the future no matter what we choose to do. That mindset comes from having principles or beliefs that are aligned with life being negative in some way. In order to make predictions correctly, one must first think positive first (Aguirre, 2016).

Then you need to take a look at all the possibilities you have in life (Aguirre, 2016). You take the possibilities you have in life that lead to success (Aguirre, 2016). Then, you start making statements about those possibilities. Make statements about what you can do and want to do(Aguirre, 2016). Last, you do things to make your predictions come true (Aguirre, 2016).

See if you get the results you predict. If you do not get any results, then you need to figure out what you are doing wrong. There might be a missing piece to the puzzle or you might predict something that is not possible (Aguirre, 2016). What you predict must be something that is possible. Possible is something that is within reach today or once you achieve something (Aguirre, 2016).

What is Drama?

Drama, means “action” according to Greek literature (Carroll, 2018). Drama is connected to the script and the one reading the script in the 15th and 16th century (Carroll, 2018). In modern times, it is still connected to that particular format in school plays and theater. The meaning of drama has changed over the past 500 years (Carroll, 2018). Drama use to mean the written play that actors performed on stage (Carroll, 2018). Actors would read the script and the action of an actor reading the script was the drama (Carroll, 2018). Over time, drama has turned into something that means overcoming a hardship in regular life with possible action sequences. Many genres have been created since “Drama.” Drama was the first genre for play that is known on paper.

During the 15th and 16th century, Drama performances were portrayed on stage for a large audience to see. It was called “theater.” Actors would say words that were written on script in front of an audience with a emotional tone (Carroll, 2018). Some theaters would also play music or dance on stage to act out story scenes (Carroll, 2018).

After Christian religion spread to other parts of the world, morality was introduced to explain good and evil in plays (Carroll, 2018). A hero was often portrayed trying to overcome some type of evil (Carroll, 2018). Some characters in plays represented symbols that stood for different things. Some characters stood for mankind’s representation. Other characters, stood as pieces to the story that made ideas more transparent tot he audience. There were people being represented as something evil. Later on, there were more scripts explaining different ideas and concepts. Drama in the end, is a written script that is meant to be acted out. For what purpose? It will depend what message the creator wants to be sent to the audience.
